I should have known not to read another Sparks novel after recently reading another. This has happened before. I generally like Nick Sparks but his books are pretty much the same idea over and over again. A lot of the same elements, veterans, tragedy, sickness, nightmares, NC, all very repetitive when you read all of his different books unless you space them out a bit. That was my main issue with this book and why I gave it a 3 instead of a 4. I enjoyed the continued story of Jeremy and Lexie but the book was just cliche Sparks.
